The Hong Kong Talent Scheme has been the hottest immigration project to Hong Kong this year, favored for its low threshold, minimal documentation, quick application, and fast approval. Many of our clients have had their Talent Scheme applications approved in just one day, with the longest taking no more than a week. However, many friends are unsure how to collect their Hong Kong temporary identity card after approval, so today I will provide a detailed guide!

1. Obtain e-visa
Pay online according to the approval guidelines to obtain the e-visa QR code. The payment and activation period for the e-visa is 6 months.

2. Apply for endorsement
Apply for a "stay" endorsement on the Hong Kong and Macau travel permit at the location of your identity card, which takes 5-7 working days.

3. Make an appointment to apply for the identity card in Hong Kong

Or download the Hong Kong Immigration Department app and follow the steps to make an appointment:Apply for identity card - Appointment - First registration of identity card - Other - Document type (travel document) - Document number (fill in the last six digits of the Hong Kong and Macau travel permit number) - Fill in other prompts.
You must make an appointment at least 2 weeks in advance!

Method 2: Direct walk-inIf you cannot find a suitable date for an online appointment, you can go directly to Hong Kong and take a walk-in approach at the Immigration Department (commonly known as "same-day allocation").
In addition to online appointments, the department releases a certain number of offline slots every morning. Be sure to wake up early to queue for the allocation! It is recommended to arrive at 7 AM to queue at the entrance, allocations are given out around 8 AM, and the doors open at 9 AM.
