Unreasonable self-scoring

We all know that there are two scoring methods for applying for the Hong Kong Quality Migrant Admission Scheme: the Achievement-based scoring and the Comprehensive Points System. The Achievement-based scoring directly scores 225 points, while the Comprehensive Points System has a scoring range of 80-225 points, with 80 points being the passing score.

Those who choose the Comprehensive Points System need to score according to the standards provided by the Immigration Department.

During this scoring process, many friends hesitate when self-assessing, unsure whether to add to their scores, leading to two common situations: one is scoring too high, and the other is scoring too low (some friends are unaware of the talent points policy and do not add points for themselves).

If the score is too low, that's fine, but if one has scored too high, it may lead to discovering that some documents cannot be provided when preparing application materials, or when the Immigration Department officer requests additional documents, one may be unable to provide them.

Qualification materials are generally not well-packaged.

Many friends do not know that even if their scores are not high and their qualifications are relatively average, to stand out among numerous application materials and impress the Immigration Department officer, one needs to put in considerable effort.

Some people may have seemingly ordinary materials, yet they can still get approved. The main reason is that they know how to package themselves well, skillfully enhancing their materials by incorporating suggestions from professionals to improve their approval rates.

If one fails to grasp the preferences of the Immigration Department officer and only packages the materials based on their own understanding, it is difficult to get approved.
