Hong Kong's medical insurance is a major component of Hong Kong's social welfare system. Anyone with Hong Kong identity can solve many medical problems for a minimal fee.

This part is funded by the government, charging citizens only low consultation and hospitalization fees. The fee for general outpatient services is 45 HKD, and the daily charge for a general ward is 100 HKD. Those living in poverty can receive free treatment. In addition to establishing hospitals and clinics, health care services are also provided to all citizens.

In addition, family health care services have been established, mainly including three aspects: providing prenatal and postnatal guidance and services for women of childbearing age, administering vaccination for children, and offering health education and consultation for pregnant women, either by answering questions over the phone or providing services on marriage and childbirth issues through family planning guidance meetings.
