2022 Hong Kong Undergraduate Admission Guide for Mainland Students to the Eight Major Hong Kong Universities

The 2022 undergraduate enrollment plan for mainland students is expected to recruit 300 students, with no quota limits set for various provinces and cities, and admissions will be based on merit.
*All undergraduate programs at The University of Hong Kong are open to mainland students, and there are no requirements for arts or sciences for college entrance examination candidates applying for any program at HKU. For provinces adopting the new college entrance examination, there are no subject selection requirements for applying to any program at HKU.
In addition to HKU's undergraduate programs, college entrance examination candidates can also apply for joint undergraduate programs co-organized by The University of Hong Kong and world-renowned universities.
*According to the Ministry of Education's directives, the scope of independent admissions for Hong Kong universities in mainland China includes 31 provinces nationwide: (in order of strokes) Shanghai, Shanxi, Shandong, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Beijing, Sichuan, Gansu, Jilin, Anhui, Jiangxi, Jiangsu, Tibet Autonomous Region, Hebei, Henan, Qinghai, Chongqing, Hainan, Zhejiang, Shaanxi, Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Heilongjiang, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Fujian, Guangxi, Guangdong, and Liaoning. Any changes to the enrollment scope will be based on the guidelines from the Ministry of Education.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology conducts independent admissions in mainland China and does not participate in the national unified admission plan (统招), thus not occupying unified admission preferences.
Students wishing to apply for admission must submit their applications to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology through the online application system before the application deadline (June 13, 2022).
This year's enrollment quota is approximately 190 students, selected based on merit, and not subject to planned enrollment; there are no upper or lower limits on enrollment quotas for various provinces and cities or for arts and sciences.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has not yet announced the number of undergraduate students to be enrolled for 2022.
The total planned enrollment for 2021 across provinces was 220 students, which can serve as a reference.
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University requires applicants to achieve excellent results in the college entrance examination, including good English scores.
Applicants who achieve provincial first prizes or above in recognized subject competitions may receive priority for interview selection. Those who pass the interview may enjoy preferential treatment under the undergraduate admission policy.
Applicants who have outstanding performances in other non-academic fields (e.g., having achieved excellent results in recognized international competitions in arts, music, sports, etc.) also have the opportunity to be admitted.
Some combined programs may require applicants to submit portfolios (e.g., design studies), additional documents (e.g., applied social sciences), or participate in interviews as part of the selection process. Applicants required to attend interviews will be notified by the relevant department.

CUHK is expected to enroll 300 students in 2022.
The Chinese University of Hong Kong recruits undergraduates in mainland China through the "National Unified Admission Plan" and is recognized by the Ministry of Education as a first batch undergraduate institution.
Due to the university's past enrollment achievements, it has received recognition from the Ministry of Education, allowing it to be included in the early admission batch of the unified admission plan, continuing to strive to cultivate outstanding talents for the country.

In 2021, CityU's total enrollment across 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions was 220 students.
CityU has been part of the national unified higher education admission plan (统招) since 2005 to recruit college entrance examination students.
Mainland high school students studying for the college entrance examination must apply for admission through the unified admission route and cannot apply directly.
The 2022/23 mainland enrollment plan will begin accepting online applications in early February 2022.
Hong Kong Baptist University has not yet announced the number of undergraduate students to be enrolled for 2022.
The total planned enrollment for 2020 across provinces was 114 students.

Lingnan University plans to enroll approximately 70 mainland undergraduates for the 2022-23 academic year, selected based on merit, accepting both arts and sciences, with no provincial limits. However, the final number of admissions may be adjusted based on actual enrollment conditions.
Full-time government-funded undergraduate programs for the 2022-23 academic year will begin accepting applications on November 3, 2021.

The 2022 enrollment plan for mainland undergraduates at The Education University of Hong Kong is expected to recruit
100 students, with no upper limit on enrollment quotas for various provinces and cities or for arts and sciences, selected based on merit.
Application conditions: Comprehensive consideration, selected based on merit.
·College entrance examination scores must meet or exceed the undergraduate score line for the respective province or city.
·English subject score must reach100 points or above (full score 150 points).
