DSE students have two opportunities for the 'Hong Kong college entrance examination' and can select the best scores from various subjects in the exam results, combining them to apply for better universities. The total score for the 5 subjects in the DSE exam is 35 points, and only 12 points are needed to meet the undergraduate admission standard, basically achieving a 100% admission rate. In addition, Hong Kong students can also apply to 129 mainland universities through the 'non-examination admission plan', allowing them to apply without taking the Chinese college entrance examination, with low thresholds for applying to Tsinghua University, Peking University, and other '985' and '211' project universities.
