Although the Hong Kong government has increased the annual quota of the "Quality Talent Admission Scheme" to 4,000 in the "2021 Hong Kong Policy Address", many prospective applicants are still concerned about one question:
Is the approval rate for Hong Kong's Quality Talent high? What factors determine whether I can be approved?

To apply for Hong Kong's Quality Talent, applicants need to score based on different factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and family background. Additional points can be earned by meeting the "Talent List" criteria, with a total score of 225 points; as long as you have 80 points, you are eligible to apply.

Who decides whether your Quality Talent application is approved?

Many applicants have misconceptions, thinking that a higher score guarantees approval, while a lower score means no chance at all. In fact, the score is just a qualification for application and does not have a direct correlation with the final approval. The final decision on whether an applicant is approved is made by the "Advisory Committee on Admission of Quality Migrants and Professionals".

The Immigration Department's Advisory Committee consists of official and non-official members appointed by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR government. The committee is divided into four groups based on the professional backgrounds of its members, with about 5-7 people in each group.

The first group provides opinions on applications from the "Industrial Manufacturing", "Construction, Surveying, Engineering and Building", and "Information Technology and Telecommunications" sectors.The second group provides opinions on applications from the "Financial and Accounting Services", "Legal Services", "Logistics and Transportation", and "Business and Trade" sectors.
The third group provides opinions on applications from the "Broadcasting and Entertainment", "Catering Services and Tourism", "Arts and Culture", and "Sports" sectors.The fourth group provides opinions on applications from the "Business Support and Human Resources", "Academic Research and Education", "Healthcare and Veterinary Services", and other sectors.
Once an applicant's score reaches 80 points, they can enter the review stage of the Advisory Committee. When evaluating applicants, the committee does not look at the score but assesses the applicant's educational background, career achievements, professional experience, international perspective, future plans in Hong Kong, and especially whether the applicant's expertise can contribute to the current and long-term social and economic needs of Hong Kong, and then decides whether to grant the applicant a Quality Talent visa.Hong Kong's Quality Talent scheme has no occupational category requirements. Regardless of which industry you belong to, whether you have only 80 points or as high as 200 points, as long as the committee discusses and recognizes that there are indeed highlights in the above evaluation aspects, you can pass the application!

申请人的分数达到80分，就可以进入咨询委员会的审核阶段。咨询委员会评估申请人的时候就不是看分数了，而是评估申请人的教育背景、事业往绩、专业经验、国际视野、未来在香港的计划、特别是申请人的专长能否对香港社会现况与长远的社会及经济需求有所贡献，然后决定是否给申请人优才签证。

香港优才无职业类别要求，无论你所属于哪个行业，无论你是只有80分还是高达200分，只要经过委员会的讨论，认定确实在以上评估方面有亮点，就可以通过申请！
