Conditions for foreign professionals or scholars to be granted long-term residence in Thailand:

(1)Professionals or scholars whose expertise is beneficial to Thailand can be issued a residence permit.

(2)Minimum annual income of $10,000.

(3)Must be 25 years old or older. Applications for long-term residence are limited to professionals lacking in Thailand, and must be submitted by the relevant Thai agency that wishes to employ you. Individuals with knowledge, professional skills, and property that meet government standards can apply for permanent residence.

Professionals or scholars granted residence permits can reside in Thailand indefinitely. Their family members (spouse, parents, and unmarried children under 21) can also obtain residence permits in Thailand. Anyone who has obtained a residence permit and wishes to work in Thailand must apply for a work permit.
