Definition of Thailand

The full name of Thailand is the Kingdom of Thailand, located in Southeast Asia, bordered by Laos and Cambodia to the east, the Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia to the south, and Myanmar and the Andaman Sea to the west. Thailand was originally named Siam, and on May 11, 1949, the Thai people changed the name from Siam to Thailand, mainly to signify freedom, as Thailand was the only country in Southeast Asia at that time.
