According to the provisions of the "Interim Measures for the Management of Chinese Citizens Traveling to the Macau Region for Personal Matters" implemented by the State Council, the application must meet the relevant conditions for settling in Macau, the required supporting documents, and the procedures and requirements for the application process; all applications, procedures, interpretation rights, processing rights, and approval rights belong to the public security bureau in the mainland, based on the explanation from the entry-exit administration of the domestic public security bureau.

1: Conditions for domestic relatives to immigrate to Macau:

 

One of the spouses has already settled in Macau, and the couple has been separated for more than seven years;

 

The parents living in Macau are elderly and in poor health, and the children in the mainland must go to Macau to take care of their lives;

 

The elderly and children in the mainland are helpless and must rely on direct relatives and close relatives in Macau;

 

There are no heirs for the direct relatives' property in Macau, and the children in the mainland must go to Macau to inherit.

2:Documents required for the applicant to prepare for settling in Macau:

A. Legal marriage certificate of both spouses, proof of direct relatives, proof of close relatives;

Note: Direct relatives refer to parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren; close relatives refer to spouses, parents, children, and siblings.

B. Proof of permanent residency qualification of one spouse in Macau;

C. Health status proof of elderly parents in Macau, such as: proof from a Macau hospital (for those in poor health)

Note: Elderly refers to: father over 60 years old, mother over 55 years old;

D. Relevant proof that there are no children living with parents in Macau;

E. Only child in Macau, with no one to take care of parents in the mainland, must have proof of agreement from relatives in Macau to take care of or raise them;

F. Proof of the property status of direct relatives in Macau, such as: lawyer notarization, business registration proof, property rights proof, etc.;

J. Proof that children in the mainland have legal inheritance rights;

1: Prepare the documents for settling in Macau

2: The applicant must fill out the application form for settling in Macau at the entry-exit administration of the local public security bureau and submit all supporting documents;

3: After the local entry-exit administration accepts the application, verify the authenticity of the applicant's materials and whether the procedures are complete;

4: After the entry-exit administration approves, based on the quota schedule for each region each year, the applicant waits in line for notification;

5: After receiving notification from the local entry-exit administration, the applicant collects a one-time single-entry permit to Macau;

6: The applicant goes to the local public security bureau to cancel their household registration with proof;

7: The applicant must complete all procedures at the entry-exit administration at the Macau port within 30 days;

8: The applicant receives a temporary resident ID card and a return permit in Macau;

9: It is required that the applicant must reside in Macau for seven years before they can obtain a permanent resident ID card.

Legal basis: "Macau Special Administrative Region Resident Identity Card System" No.8/2002 Law Article 4: Minors born in Macau, if at the time of birth their father or mother has legally resided in Macau, are residents of the Macau Special Administrative Region.

Macau Special Administrative Region No.23/2002 Administrative Regulation Article 3, Paragraph 1: To obtain a resident ID card, non-permanent residents' residence certificates can be obtained in any of the following ways: (1) If they are ChineseMainlandcitizens, with a residence certificate and a permit for entry to Hong Kong and Macau, or with residence permit documents; (2) If they are Portuguese citizens, with a residence certificate; (3) If they are other individuals, with residence permit documents.
