The Hong Kong Immigration Department announced the data on the approval of applications for the Hong Kong Quality Migrant Admission Scheme in 2022. Today, I will briefly analyze this data to provide a reference for those who are about to apply for the scheme.
 

1. Approval Numbers
Last year, the Immigration Department received a total of 16,396 applications, which is several times more than the 5,365 applications in 2021.
In 2022, a total of 2,845 applications were approved under the Hong Kong Quality Migrant Admission Scheme. Although this number may not seem very high compared to the number of applications, it is an increase compared to the 2,004 applications approved in 2021.

This means that even if the quota for applications is canceled this year, the review standards for the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme will remain unchanged, maintaining an attitude of 'better to be short than to be excessive'.
 

2. Regions of Applicants
In addition, the region with the highest number of approvals last year was still Mainland China, with a total of 2,719 approvals from the Mainland in 2022, accounting for over 95% of the total.
