If the only goal is to obtain Hong Kong residency and there is no clear focus on life priorities, or if the focus remains in mainland China, it is recommended to renew the most lenient quality migrant scheme. If the applicant meets the 'high-level talent' criteria and clearly wishes to work in Hong Kong, or considers factors such as application procedures or approval duration, then the high-level talent scheme is the best choice.

For renewal, the high-level talent scheme is more challenging, requiring the applicant to find a job in Hong Kong (submitting employer company information, company business proof, economic status documentation, etc.), or to start a business or participate in business activities (proof related to the business must be provided). In contrast, the quality migrant scheme does not have mandatory requirements for employer company information during renewal. It only requires general residency in Hong Kong, offering greater flexibility.
