Mainland students apply for associate degrees based on their college entrance examination scores (at least the second-tier line), English scores (generally above 100), and a combination of written and interview results. Some institutions accept applicants whose college entrance examination scores meet or exceed the vocational college line.

High cost-performance ratio
The tuition fee for mainland students directly coming to Hong Kong for undergraduate studies is around 120,000 to 160,000 HKD per year, while the tuition fee for Hong Kong associate degree programs is about 50,000 to 60,000 HKD per year, saving half of the tuition.

High teaching quality
Hong Kong associate degrees are offered by various universities in Hong Kong, taught entirely in English, and the teaching format is basically the same as undergraduate courses, sharing school resources. Academically, the requirements for associate degree students are relatively strict, and they can interact and grow together with top students from prestigious Hong Kong universities.
