The talent interview is not a true "interview" in the conventional sense; it is merely a review of some original documents submitted with the talent application by the Immigration Department. The interview lasts about 1-2 hours.

General process:

·Phone appointment

·Go to the 6th floor of the Wan Chai Immigration Department at the scheduled time.

·Take a number at window 2 and wait for your turn (waiting time is about 15 minutes).

·The officer will pre-review the materials (time depends on the materials).

Once the pre-review is completed, the officer will usually give a four-page light green questionnaire, which generally asks about what attracts you to Hong Kong, what kind of work you plan to do, your expected salary, whether your spouse will work in Hong Kong, personal phone and email, etc. Just fill it out as required.

If there are issues with the materials, the officer will issue a principle approval letter indicating the requirements for additional documents, and you will need to make a new appointment to bring the supplementary materials for a timely meeting.

·Then you can leave.

There will be no questioning during the interview; the officer may ask a couple of simple questions regarding the details of the interview materials, so there is no need to worry at all.

How to prepare the interview materials?

After passing the selection, the talent will receive a principle approval notification letter issued by the Immigration Department, which will list the required documents. Just prepare according to the list.

During the pandemic, talent interviews can be delegated to others. The list of materials for delegation is as follows:

1.Original Hong Kong ID of the agent;

2.Original authorization letter (the authorization letter must specify the approved Hong Kong talent application code, the name of the representative, and the Hong Kong ID number/identification document number, and must be signed by the applicant. The signature must match the one on the application form);

3.All original attachments listed in the "principle approval notification letter";

·Generally, you will receive the formal approval letter in the afternoon. Just follow the instructions on the third page to pay the fee and download the electronic visa.
