If the professional talent does not belong to the talent list, it is very difficult for the outstanding talent application to be approved.

Q:I saw that the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme has a talent list, and I do not belong to the professional talents on that list. Does that mean my application will be difficult to approve?
A:No. The 13 professions currently covered by the Hong Kong talent list only represent the types of professional talents that are most in demand in Hong Kong, and do not mean that Hong Kong does not need talents from other industries. If you meet the qualifications of the talent list, it will be a bonus for your application; if you do not meet the qualifications, there is no need to be overly concerned, as Hong Kong welcomes outstanding talents from all industries.
Q:Do dependents need to submit the application together with the main applicant for the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme?
A:No. However, since in the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme, if the spouse holds a bachelor's degree, as a dependent, they can add 5 points to the application. Additionally, if unmarried dependent children under 18 accompany, one child can add 5 points, with a maximum of 10 points. Therefore, it is recommended that dependents submit the application together with the main applicant.
Q:After the Quality Migrant Admission is approved, if I do not live in Hong Kong, do I need to go to Hong Kong once every six months?
A:The Immigration Department does not have specific requirements for the number of visits or duration of stay for approved Quality Migrant applicants, but considering future visa renewals and permanent residency, it is advisable to visit Hong Kong as much as possible after approval to maintain your connection with Hong Kong. If you go once every six months, that would mean only two visits a year, which may affect future renewals and permanent residency.
Q:The review of the Quality Migrant application takes almost a year. If my work or family situation changes during the waiting period after I submit my application, will it affect my application?
A:During the application review process, if there are changes in your work or family situation, you need to promptly update the Immigration Department about the relevant circumstances. For example, if you start a new job, you need to inform the Immigration Department of your latest employment situation and provide a recommendation letter from your new employer.
