Recently, many people are worried that the pandemic will affect the application for the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme. Today, I will analyze the application and approval data since the scheme was established in 2006 to explain why it is currently the easiest time to apply for the Quality Migrant Admission.

1. The pandemic does not affect the application for Hong Kong identity.
From the historical application approval data, the number of applicants has shown an overall upward trend, with a rapid increase in 2019. Although the number of applicants decreased in 2020, it rebounded immediately in 2021, indicating that most people are confident about Hong Kong's future development.

Obtaining Hong Kong identity through the Quality Migrant Admission does not require living and working in Hong Kong. Therefore, even if one applies for Hong Kong identity, they can still enjoy benefits in education, taxation, and other aspects in the mainland, which is a win-win situation.

2. Higher approval rate for mainland residents.
From the analysis of the allocated quota data: over 90% of those who successfully obtained the Quality Migrant Admission are mainland residents; the success rate of mainland residents' applications is relatively high.

3. Significant increase in the approval rate for Hong Kong Quality Migrant Admission.
From the analysis of historical approval rate data: In 2021, a record high of 2004 people were approved for the Quality Migrant Admission, which is 295 more than in 2020 and 1130 more than in 2019. The total number of approvals last year accounted for only half of this year's (2022) total quota, which has increased to 4000, giving applicants undoubtedly greater opportunities.
