Foreigners who invest no less than 10 million Thai Baht can obtain permanent residency after approval and consultation with the Ministry of Interior. During the application period, the applicant may be allowed to temporarily stay in Thailand until the relevant Thai authorities make a decision on their application. Granting permanent residency to foreign investors, experts, and technical personnel is mainly to promote foreign investment and the development of science and technology in Thailand.

Investment projects by foreign investors must comply with the promoted investment projects. The Thailand Board of Investment has compiled the "Investment Committee Guide," which lists popular investment projects. The minimum investment amount ranges from 1 million to 3 million Thai Baht, depending on the type of investment.

(1)For projects that meet the promotion criteria of the Investment Board, the Investment Committee will not consider the details of the project but will consider the scale of investment, the qualifications of the investor, and the equity structure (common stock);

(2)Investment funds must be invested in the common stock of a limited company established for the implementation of the investment project;

(3)Within 3 years of obtaining residency, investors must comply with all investment regulations.
