1. Entry for non-Hong Kong residents

Starting from May 1, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will resume the entry policy for non-Hong Kong residents. Non-Hong Kong residents traveling from overseas to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region must implement either a 14-day or 7-day mandatory quarantine plus 7 days of self-monitoring upon arrival, depending on the risk level of the departure country/region and vaccination status.

Relevant individuals must meet all entry testing and quarantine requirements:

·Complete vaccination

·Obtain a negative result from a nucleic acid test before departure

·Book a designated quarantine hotel

·Undergo "testing on arrival" and be transferred by designated vehicles to a designated quarantine hotel for mandatory quarantine upon arrival in Hong Kong

·Undergo multiple virus tests during the quarantine period

2. The new policy does not apply to mainland residents

Hong Kong is currently open for overseas entry, and this policy only applies to passengers holding non-Chinese passports.

Currently, mainland residents can only apply for a "Hong Kong SAR family visit visa," and other types of visas are suspended. Chinese embassies and consulates in various countries have also suspended the issuance of transit visas for holders of Chinese passports traveling to the Hong Kong SAR.

3. Entry reminders for personnel from other countries

Travelers holding foreign passports that have visa-free entry agreements with the Hong Kong SAR, such as being able to stay in the Hong Kong SAR for 30 days without a visa, can enter Hong Kong after May 1.

After entering Hong Kong, individuals need to undergo epidemic prevention quarantine. If they continue to the mainland after the quarantine ends, they will still need to follow the epidemic prevention requirements for overseas arrivals in China and continue to undergo epidemic prevention quarantine upon arrival in the first city in the mainland.
