Frequently asked questions:
1.Can family members accompany? If so, in what capacity?
Answer:The spouse of the main applicant andunmarried children under 22 years old can accompany. Canada does not have a study visa for accompanying family members. If the spouse/unmarried children under 22 choose to accompany the main applicant for a short period during their study, they can apply for a visitor visa; if the spouse/unmarried children under 22 choose to accompany the main applicant for a long period during their study, they can apply for an open work permit/open study permit. Generally, our company suggests that family members go to Canada during the main applicant's work phase. After the main applicant meets the work requirements, they can submit the immigration application together.
2.Can the main applicant and their accompanying family members enjoy local medical benefits?
Answer:1) During the study permit phase: From September 1, 2018, the main applicant and their accompanying family members no longer enjoy local free medical care and need to purchase medical insurance themselves; 2) During the work permit phase: The main applicant holding a valid work permit for one year or more, the main applicant and the accompanying family members listed on their work permit can enjoy local free medical care.
